About Us

For more than 20 years, Carolina Day School has hosted a biennial auction to benefit a targeted need at the school. Our auctions are notorious not only for the significant funds they raise to support our school, but also for the invaluable opportunities they provide for us to gather as a school community to enjoy each other’s company at creative, themed events.

The 2017 auction’s talented team of volunteers led by auction chair Suzanne Rose, are planning creative and fun ways to engage families across divisions in our "Door 1345, A Speakeasy"theme. The auction includes two special events: On Thursday, April 6, we will celebrate our families, teachers and students with a Temperance Party Family Night Auction which will include a silent auction evening filled with games, activities, and dinner in the Alumni gym. This family focused event provides an opportunity for our students to see the value of supporting a cause greater than themselves—our beloved school. The April 8 Door 1345, A Speakeasy will be held at The Venue downtown, a beautiful Art Deco space perfect for our 1920's Prohibition Era theme. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite flapper, gangster, politician or other character from the time. It will be an evening of fabulous cocktails, a seated dinner, entertainment, live and silent auctions.

The goal is to raise $250,000 between the two events. Proceeds support expanded SmartBoard technology in every division and enhanced bleachers, shelters and sound system at Sgro Field. Save the dates and plan to be there to join in the fun!
