Where is the magic happening, and where do I park?
Technicolor takes center stage at The Venue, located right in the heart of downtown Asheville at 21 N Market St, Asheville, NC 28801. To keep your evening stress-free, we highly recommend using a ride-share service like Uber or Lyft so you can be dropped off right at the front door. If you prefer to drive, there are several public parking decks nearby, though please keep in mind that space is limited and parking fees are separate from your event ticket.
Is there a cozy spot to stay nearby?
Why not make a weekend of it? We’ve arranged an exclusive preferred rate at the AC Hotel Asheville Downtown, which is a mere 0.1 miles from the festivities. You can enjoy a breezy three-minute stroll down Broadway and East Walnut Street to get to the auction. These rooms are a hot commodity in downtown Asheville and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to use our special booking link to secure your stay before the block fills up. What’s on the menu for dinner?
Prepare for a culinary experience as vibrant as the evening itself. Our featured entrée is a roasted, Tuscan-style Frenched chicken breast served with a velvety cream sauce of spinach and sundried tomatoes over confit garlic mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. For those preferring a vegetarian delight, we are serving a savory mushroom cap stuffed with avocado-chimichurri, nestled on a bed of creamy quinoa with wilted spinach and sundried tomatoes.
When do the doors swing open?
The celebration begins early for our Prism Party guests, who can slip into the upper level at 5:30 pm for an exclusive hour of curated entertainment, a full open bar, and gourmet hors d'oeuvres. Our General Admission guests are invited to join the gala at 6:30 pm to kick off an unforgettable evening of libations and laughter.
What exactly is the Prism Experience?
The Prism Experience is more than just a pre-party—it’s the ultimate way to elevate your night. This high-energy kick-off features a fabulous signature cocktail, a pre-gala open bar, and rhythmic music to set the mood. Because we want this to feel truly intimate, capacity is strictly limited, so we recommend grabbing these exclusive tickets while they last.
What should I wear to the party?
Skip the standard tuxedo and let your personal style take center stage in full technicolor. The dress code for TECHNICOLOR is Upscale Cocktail in Living Color. We want to see your personality shine through bold patterns, vibrant hues, and celebratory styles. Pick your favorite shade of the rainbow and dress to impress in a way that feels like you.
How do I secure my tickets?
Joining the fun is easy—simply purchase your tickets directly through this website. This is CDS's premier fundraising event and space is limited, so don’t wait too long to claim your place in the spotlight.
What happens at check-in?
When you arrive, our friendly team will help you register and hand over your official bidding paddle for the Live Auction. To make your night even smoother, we suggest registering your credit card online in advance. This allows you to skip the checkout lines at the end of the night and head straight home with your treasures.
Will there be mobile bidding?
We’ve gone digital to make bidding a breeze, so make sure your smartphone is fully charged and ready to go! By pre-registering your mobile number, you’ll get early access to the online auction the day before the event. Don’t worry if you aren’t a tech expert—our wonderful volunteers will be roaming the floor to help you place those winning bids.
When can I start placing bids?
If you’ve pre-registered your device, keep an eye out for a text message before the festivities begin. Just click the automated link to confirm your details and you can start vying for your favorite items before you even step through the door.
Do I have to be there to win?
While the excitement of the Live Auction requires you to be in the room, you don’t have to be present to win our mobile auction items! If you can’t make it to TECHNICOLOR in person, you can still register and bid remotely. For those interested in the high-stakes Live Auction items but unable to attend, please reach out to us at advancement@carolinaday.org to arrange a proxy bidder.
How do I get my new treasures home?
Once you’ve won and settled your tab, you can collect your items at our designated pick-up station. For our remote winners or those who can’t carry their items home that night, purchases will be available for pickup on campus starting April 29. While we can ship some items for a standard fee, please check with us to see if your specific prize is eligible for delivery.
