Since 1976, dating back to the days of Asheville Country Day School, every other year Carolina Day School embarks on what is our biggest event and major fundraiser in support of our school: Auction Gala. Almost every independent school has a major Gala; not only are they very unique ways to bring our community together, they provide a major source of revenue for independent schools' operating budgets. At CDS, we do something most schools do not: we have two events in one week.
The first event is Family Night Auction, which is a very fun and price-accessible event for all ages. This year Family Night is Super Wildcats!, a masked superhero themed party here on CDS's campus on Thursday, April 28th. Super Wildcats! includes a creative theme, festive decor, great family-oriented auction items, the ever-popular cake walk, food, music, games and more. The new Hot Lunch Raffle is drawn at this event, and the lucky winning family will receive a hot lunch for their child every day that it is provided next school year!
The main event is Masqued, a chic black tie-optional gala event, chaired by Katina Turner at the Asheville Art Museum on Saturday, April 30th. Masqued is a formal evening gala event for ages 21+ that includes a gorgeous venue, unique theme, food and libations, DJ Marley Carroll, a top-notch Silent Auction, and a one-of-a-kind luxury Live Auction. The biennial Tuition Raffle, where families can win up to $25,000 of tuition credit for next school year, is drawn at this event. (See more about both raffles in the raffle section.)
CDS Auction Galas are the events of legends, and Masqued will be no exception–we hope you can join us at one or both of this year's events. Tickets for Masqued are limited so don't wait!
